Welcome to the website of the Civil Service Commissioners.
We -there are fifteen of us- are drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds, and between us have extensive experience of management and leadership in the private, public and voluntary sectors. Appointed by the Crown and independent of Government, we work to uphold the core Civil Service values of integrity, honesty, openness and impartiality and to ensure that recruitment to the Civil Service is on the basis of merit through fair and open competition.
Here you will find out more about who we are and what we do. We have added a short video to this site which introduces us and our role. It is about three minutes long and we hope that you will find it an interesting introduction to our work.
