The Civil Service Commissioners launched their new website on 25 January. The move from civilservicecommissioners.gov.uk to civilservicecommissioners.org underlines the Commissioners independence from government. The Commissioners are appointed by the Crown and report annually on their work to The Queen.
These are exciting and challenging times for the Civil Service and the Commissioners want to communicate their work in upholding core Civil Service values and the principle of selection on merit to as wide an audience as possible. The new website is a continuation of the strategy that saw the Commissioners annual report for 2006-07 launched as an internet-only publication for the first time.
