Janet Paraskeva, the First Civil Service Commissioner, has responded to the publication of the Constitutional Reform and Governance Bill on Monday 20 July 2009:

“The  independent Civil Service Commissioners welcome the publication today of the Constitutional Reform  and Governance  Bill which will enshrine the long held values of the Civil Service – honesty, objectivity, impartiality, integrity and the principle of appointment on merit - in statute  for the first time since they were introduced over 150 years ago. We will be following the passage of the Bill with interest.”
