Procedure for Appealing to the Civil Service Commissioners under the Civil Service Code

The Civil Service Commissioners have produced a series of guides which together outline their approach to hearing an appeal under the Civil Service Code.  These are:

 

• a guide to assist civil servants who are considering bringing an appeal under the Code to the Commissioners;
• a guide for departments when a member of their staff has brought an appeal under the Code to the Commissioners;
• a supplementary guide describing the policies and procedures that the Commissioners will follow when hearing an appeal under the Code.

The documents are issued for the guidance of individual civil servants and departments and do not form part of the Civil Service Code.

References to departments and agencies should be understood as including the Scottish Government and the Welsh Assembly.
